PAVOL DEMEŠ is an internationally recognised NGO leader and analyst based in Bratislava, Slovakia. After democratic changes in 1989, he entered public life and served as Minister of International Relations, 1991–1992; then as foreign policy advisor to the President of the Slovak Republic (1993–1997). Since 2000 he is non-resident Senior Transatlantic Fellow with the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
