András Lányi

ANDRÁS LÁNYI (Budapest, 1948) film director, writer, environmental activist and thinker. Directed feature films in the 1980s. In the late 1980s, he was a prominent figure in the movement against the building of the Gabčíkovo-Nagymaros barrage system on the Danube. He actively participated in the political movements of the opposition and the new democracy. He has written widely on visual culture and human ecology, also as a professor of ELTE, Budapest.
